The P&G Brussels Innovation Centre in Brussels (Belgium) is a key training center for worldwide P&G technical staff and offers research training for the development of fundamental knowledge on biotechnology alternatives to basic chemicals in detergents. We are a pioneer in developing new technologies and innovations in consumer product categories that improve the health and well being of consumers worldwide, through the application of leading edge science and technology and a deep understanding of consumer needs.
Together with five excellent European partners we offer young researchers a research perspective at world-class scientific level in multidisciplinary and international teams to achieve a breakthrough in the development of sustainable detergents. Thanks to the European funded Programme on Academia- Industry Partnership Pathway (CAP-IT, IAPP 251298) we are currently seeking a research fellow for a period of 12 months. The research is carried out at Procter & Gamble Brussels Innovation Centre (BE). The researcher should have a PhD degree in Chemistry or Pharma and be available to start effective August 2012, sooner if possible.
More information on each project, including job requirements, and participation rules etc. are detailed below.
The research focuses on the holistic design and evaluation of selected advanced encapsulation technologies, with particular regard to elements of cost, quality, performance, and scalability to higher throughput. The fellow will develop methodologies to evaluate and compare encapsulates, potentially utilizing spectroscopic as well as mass spectrometric techniques. During the research, the fellow will develop multidisciplinary knowledge on encapsulation, holistic technology evaluation and manufacturing technologies. The research is carried out at Procter & Gamble Brussels Innovation Center (BE).
We need a young talented individual who has background preferably in Pharmacy or Chemistry.
Knowledge on deposition mechanisms and how surface characteristics change in function of the deposited chemical and encapsulation will be highly appreciated.
It will be a plus if the candidate has knowledge in mass spectrometry with a focus on small molecules, in order to combine that technique’s selectivity, sensitivity and high throughput advantages to drive learning in the overall technology program.
In addition to technical excellence and a good knowledge of English, we also look for skills such as passion for winning, creativity, innovation, initiative, communication, leadership and the ability to work with others. Excellent communication skills will be essential for the important data mining part.
